Think about a moment when you challenged your parent(s)’ rules or expectations. How did you feel, and what was the outcome?

Prompt Response: When I was younger I refused to put on fancy clothes for church on Sunday, I didn't want to attend church at all in the first place and definitely wasn't going to put on an uncomfortable pink poofy dress, so I refused. As a result my family allowed me to stay home but then after church they all got lunch and ice cream without me and said if I wanted the treats I had to go to church and wear my church clothes.

Summary: We continued working on our story map projects and analyzing the two kinds text.

Reflection: I learned alot about the authors childhood and her journey through life as a Chinese girl being raised in the states, and the ways she dealt with her mothers harsh expectations.
